Shewa graduated from Otago medical school in 2017 and she has been working in general practice since 2022. Prior to medical school she was a Respiratory Physiologist for a few years. Her special interest is in preventative medicine.

Dr Pinn Prukpitikul trained as a doctor in Thailand, graduating in 2014. Since then, she’s worked in general practice and taught general practice medicine at a university. She believes in a holistic approach to medicine. “If one part of the body isn’t working properly, all the other parts will be affected.” She enjoys playing the guitar, piano and singing. She is a mum of 2 children with 2 dogs which makes her life busy and colourful!

Johnathan is originally from the UK but has been settled in NZ since 2021. He has been working at RCH since then and enjoys the continuity of care of General practice. Like most GPs he enjoys the breadth of people and problems that he deals with and is developing a special interest in skin cancer care. He spends much of his free time hiking, biking or running and going to music events.

Mary graduated from the Otago Medical School in 2000 and has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Child Health.  She has spent time working in England prior to returning to New Zealand and completing her specialist training in General practice.  She is a fellow of the New Zealand College of General Practitioners.  She enjoys the variety of general practice and the ability to support patients through both health and illness. Her interests include family and paediatric medicine.

John grew up in Christchurch and graduated from the University of Otago Medical School in 2021. Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology at the University of Canterbury in 2015. John has recently completed his General Practice specialty examinations and is working his way towards fellowship with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. John enjoys all aspects of general practice and believes in a holistic, patient-centred approach to healthcare. Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with family and is also a keen musician.

Doctor Specialists

Dr. Phil is a dedicated GP with a special interest in skin health, seeing patients by referral on Mondays and Tuesdays. He values building long-term relationships with patients and supporting them through their health journeys. Outside work, Phil enjoys mountain biking, walking his dogs, managing a small farmlet, and photographing New Zealand’s stunning landscapes. He has played a key role in coordinating primary health services across Canterbury through major events like the swine flu, earthquakes, and COVID-19.

With over 40 years of experience as a General Practitioner, Dr. Catherine has been a valued member of Rolleston Central Health for the past decade. She has developed a special interest in Women’s Health and Palliative Care, areas in which she brings both expertise and compassionate care. Now semi-retired, Dr. Catherine continues to see patients for women’s health one afternoon each week. Living locally with her husband, Catherine is a proud mother of four adult children and grandmother to seven grandchildren. She and her family enjoy staying active outdoors and are actively involved in their community through Cornerstone Church Rolleston, reflecting the importance of their Christian faith in their lives.

Sally brings over 21 years of experience in the hospital setting, with a strong background in acute pain management. Sally is passionate about building genuine relationships with patients and supporting them to improve their health and wellbeing. She truly believes in the difference good care can make. Outside of work, Sally enjoys trail running, hiking, and spending time outdoors.

Nurse Prescribers

The Nurse Prescriber Team was created to address the increasing healthcare demands of patients, ensuring new arrivals receive high-quality care.

Nurse Prescribers are highly trained registered nurses with postgraduate qualifications who can assess health needs, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and order tests.

Under the oversight of Dr. Phil Schroeder, our Medical Director, they offer daily appointments with reduced wait times and a collaborative, expert-driven approach.

They can help you with issues like infections, skin conditions, contraception, and sexual health, as well as management of long-term conditions.

Originally from the Seychelles, Genevieve has been living in New Zealand for 16 years. She completed her nursing training in 2015 and became a Nurse Prescriber in 2023. Genevieve loves working in general practice because of the people she meets and values the privilege of supporting patients on their health journeys. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.

Our reception team are the vital cogs that keep Rolleston Central Health running! They can be found manning the front desk and answering phone calls (as well as a lot more behind the scenes). Always happy to help, they are the first point of call for all patients at our practice.
