Appointments

Consultations at Rolleston Central Health are by appointment only. Appointments can be made online or by ringing reception.

  • A standard appointment is 15 minutes.
  • One problem per appointment.
  • Your clinician may ask you to schedule another appointment if your issue cannot be managed within the booked time due to its complexity or if you have multiple issues to discuss.

Some issues require longer appointments, incur different fees, or are not offered by all our clinicians. Please phone reception to book appointments for the following:

  • Contraceptive implants (IUD/Mirena/Jadelle)
  • Minor surgery
  • Insurance Medicals/Other Forms (We may ask you to bring these into reception or email them so we can make sure you are booked in for the correct amount of time to allow these to be completed)
  • Travel appointments

We have a number of appointments available for acute and urgent issues, which can be booked on the same day. Please ring reception to book these. At certain times of the year, these do fill up very quickly, but our team will do their best to accommodate you or advise you of other options.

Please do not enter the clinic if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms. If you need to be seen for any symptoms, including fever, cough, cold, runny nose, sore throat or other contagious conditions, you will be booked into our separate respiratory clinic.

There are times when our clinicians may run late due to an emergency. We appreciate your patience and understanding and will do our best to advise you in these situations. Please call ahead if you are running late for an appointment.

If you are five minutes or more late to your appointment, the clinician reserves the right to mark you as ‘did not attend,’ and you will be required to book another appointment.

If you do not attend a booked appointment and have not contacted us to cancel with a minimum of three hours’ notice, we reserve the right to charge a full non-attendance fee. A charge may also apply to under-14-year-olds.

We encourage you to see your regular clinician, rather than seeing someone different every time. This is because continuity of care is better for your health. Having a regular clinician who knows your health history and needs leads to a more personalised and effective healthcare experience for people. We acknowledge that sometimes it is not easy to get an appointment with your ongoing clinician because they’re either away or booked up. To alleviate this, try to book your appointments as early as possible – especially for repeat scripts and routine visits. If you are seen by another clinician, they will deal with your acute health needs but then refer you back to your usual clinician for follow-up care.

We pride ourselves on providing friendly, caring, and supportive professional health services, and we ask that you be respectful to our staff in return. We have a zero tolerance towards patients exhibiting bad behaviour.
