REGISTERED PATIENTS ONLY – WE ARE UNABLE TO SEE CASUAL PATIENTS. IF YOU ARE NOT A REGISTERED PATIENT AND HAVE A COVID-19 INQUIRY PLEASE PHONE THE COVID HEALTHLINE NUMBER FOR ADVICE AND INFORMATION 24/7 0800 358 5453
Ministry of Health advice currently is that if you are asymptomatic (well with no symptoms) and have not recently travelled to any of the places of interest then you do not need to be tested.
We have a limited number of spaces in our Respiratory Clinics to see registered patients, who are symptomatic with cough/cold/fever/runny nose/sore throat and can offer these patients a COVID swab, however we are not providing a community COVID testing service.
Who should get a test?
-
If you have symptoms and have been at a location of interest you should get a test.
-
If you are WELL and have visited a place of interest – the advice is to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days after you were exposed at this location of interest. If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result AND until 24 hours after symptoms resolve.
-
If you are unwell with a new or worsening cough, sneezing and runny nose, a fever, temporary loss of smell or altered sense of taste, sore throat or shortness of breath – get a test as soon as possible.
- You do not need a COVID test if you have no symptoms, but you can attend one of the community testing centres and they will still test you – there may be a wait for this.
Our priority is patient and staff safety. PLEASE DO NOT COME INTO OUR MAIN ENTRANCE IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS.
Please call Healthline 0800-611-116 for routine advice, use our patient portal for bookings and prescription requests, or attend Riccarton Clinic or The 24 Hour Surgery if you or your child are acutely unwell.
